Why is Cybersecurity Important?

Cyber security is important because so much of our information that is collected by organizations like the government, military, corporate, financial, and medical facilities is highly sensitive information. Such as social security numbers, financial data, personal information, or any information that can cause substantial amount of damage to an individual if their information is taken.

Organizations transmit sensitive data across networks and to other devices in the course of doing business and cyber security describes the discipline dedicated to protecting that information and the systems used to process or store it. As the volume and sophistication of cyber attacks grow, companies and organizations, especially those that are tasked with safeguarding information relating to national security, health, or financial records, need to take steps to protect their sensitive business and personnel information.

Many organizations have a department dedicated just to cyber security, they have special protocols that they follow to insure that our information is kept safe from cyber attacks.

Everything and anything we do is now so much more accessible to cyber attacks, with something as simple as online shopping your prone to cyber attacks. Cyber security can prevent and keep track of those attacks. With the technology becoming more and more prevalent, cyber security needs to be in top shape.
